Workers Compensation FAQ

Q:  I was hurt at work can I file it on my personal insurance?

A:  No, if you were injured while working, your employer is responsible for the claim.  It needs to be filed as an injury to your workers’ compensation insurance carrier, or your employer needs to pay for the visit.

Q:  I was seen in your office for a workers’ compensation injury and the provider is referring me to a specialist.  How long will this take?

A:  Workers’ Compensation referrals often take much longer than a normal referral because there are many steps involved in obtaining the referral.  We are required to obtain authorization from your insurance carrier adjustor and/or your employer prior to setting the appointment up.
